Bring it on, 2013.

Goodbye 2012! Hello 2013! At the start of every year it is a tradition to set your self goals to follow throughout the year to come. A good way to start thinking of these goals is too look back at the past year and list the things you liked about your self and the things that you didn't like as much. In my case there were things that I really loved and want to carry on, but also aspects that I want to improve on.

Go for the healthier option
As it has just been Christmas, I feel it is time I went back to the healthier options and less mince pies! It isn't a bad thing to occasionally indulge in a yummy chocolate bar or packet of crisps, but overall staying away from them is a better idea. The biggest problem with me isn't the meal, I eat rather healthy meals, it’s the snacking that’s the problem! When I feel like a little snack to tide me over I want to go for something that will benefit me more than not. Instead of a chocolate bar, I will eat some low fat yogurt and instead of crisps, some nuts.

Do my very best at school
I am quite happy with how school went last year, however I want to try even harder this year. I heard someone say that I have less than two years to go! This scared me quite a bit and I don’t want to throw it all away and wish I did better. I want to look back at my work and be able to be proud of myself!

do not worry
I have the unfortunate habit of worrying a lot about the littlest things that should not get me. The worrying doesn't just bring me down at the time I’m worrying, but also has an impact on me even days after. As this affected my life in a bad way last year, I don’t want it to happen anymore! It isn't something that will go away immediately, but my goal is not to worry about silly little things. The picture below is one a friend showed me that I thought was very true and helpful.

The worry diagram, there is no need to worry!

♥ Make my loved ones around me happy
I don’t just want to make goals that will only benefit me, but also the people I love. There are lots of amazing and important people that are in my life that make me happy! I want to return this and be the best person I can be towards them too. In the end, this will make me happy as I’m making others around me happy, and make me a better person!

Blog and Vlog more
Over the year of 2013, I want blog and vlog a lot more! I want to blog at least one Outfit Of The Day a week, and another post if I have time. I want to upload a video on my Youtube channel at least once every two weeks. It may not seem like it but blogging is very time consuming. You must write up what you want to share, take the photos and then edit them! Even though I love doing it, it’s the time that is the issue. The same goes from youtube videos, time! I am going to try and make more time for it!

I hope to keep to these goals and overall become a better person for myself! I wish you all a happy new year and good luck with your new year's resolutions! xoxo monicaalicee

The Fashtag Launch Party!

Hey everyone! Last week Friday I came back from a wonderful art trip to the beautiful city of London! I have had problems with my internet so I have not been able to upload anything to my blog, but now that it is better I am uploading something that I really want to share.

On the 22nd of November, I was invited to the Fashtag Launch Party, in Carnaby street, and what an experience it was! Having a fairly underground YouTube channel and Blog, it was great to get out there and meet many big names in the fashion blogging world. I was lucky enough to me Lexi from sototallyvlog and BeautybyJJ. As I am a huge fan of Lexi, it was amazing to meet her in person. From afar I saw Made In Chelsea's Rosie Fortescue and Shingai Shoniwa from the Noisettes. It was amazing to meet everyone in personal actually  Lots of famous faces that you never thought you would see in flesh are with you in the same room is very overwhelming.

I was there for just over an hour and half, and in that time I got my make up done by a lovely lady who is make up artist for the Illamasqua makeup brand. She created an amazing smokey eye on me that looked fantastic. Whenever I do it myself, it always looks a little messy, but with her it looked fab! Once my make up was done, I had a little photo shoot. This was really fun! Afterwards I was interviewed by Goldyrocks for a while which was a lovely experience. A small part of the interview has been put into their official launch video which I am really chuffed about! Be sure to check out the video down below!

I had a limited amount of time, so I am very grateful for being able to have attended to launch! Thanks Fashtag for letting me come down! I can not wait to see what happens to the channel!

Winter Wonderland

☂ Finally over the last two weeks it has decided to snow! Of course I am going to take advantage of it and I went ice skating twice with a bunch of friends. One of the times we saw this adorable dog that just came running at us and slipped on the ice, poor thing! Even though I do enjoy the snow, it has come to point where the snow has melted and gone all slushy and brown, which is when I start to hope it will warm up and become summer. It is getting a lot warmer now, and some of the trees are starting to blossom, which means spring is on its way. I am going to miss winter though, even though it is cold and dark, in winter you can enjoy a good old hot chocolate with cream, and not feel guilty! I hope everyone is enjoying what is left of the snow!

January: A Month In monicaalicee's Eyes

The first month of twenty twelve has had a lot going on, so I think it is safe to say it has been pretty eventful month!

Sticking to my New Years resolution has been harder than I thought, however it is going quite well. I knew I should have only made one, it is so much easier that way! I made these four:

          Stay healthy
          Vlog and Blog more often
          Do well in school
          Be happy

I think I have done alright with most of them, except the stay healthy. When there is a box of chocolates on the table, it is very hard resist the temptation and take one! The ones above were a present and as you can see, I am 'trying' to eat them slowly! They are just too de-li-cious! Oh well, at least I have been vlogging and blogging a lot more. I aim to make at least four blog posts and four vlogs every month, so about once a week. I think I am doing quite well at school. I am focussing a lot more since the new year and I am really ambitious to do well! The last one, being happy is something that everyone should try and do. When things get on your nerves and get to you in a bad way, just tell them no and live your life! Blast some loud music and do what you love best, in my case right now it is blogging and vlogging!

It was only at the end of December and the beginning of January that I realised what I wanted to be when I grew up. This would be, a fashion writer. I have come to love blogging and I really enjoy the subject English at school. This shows that I have an ambition to do with writing. The reason I want to be in fashion, is because the industry fascinates me. I find fashion has a very broad meaning and can be interpreted very different to different people. It is a form of art, and as I have a love for art, I have realised this is what I want to do. To be a fashion writer, you need to have huge background knowledge on all the different aspects of the fashion industry. The course I am planning to join will give me an experiences that I can put into my portfolio and also teach me a few things that are always handy to know. I have already joined a art course, but I am sure I will do a blog post on that very soon!

On my YouTube account, I officially have over 30 subscribers, which I am very proud of! Thank you to everyone who has subscribed! If you have not seen my channel yet, it is called ''monicaaliceeShow'', the link is at the bottom of the post. I also have 17 followers on my blog, which again I am so proud of, so thank you everyone who has followed! This has really motivated me to do a lot more vlogs and blogs this year which I am really looking forward too!

Peace and Quiet

Goo' Day Me Lovelies!

I'm at a friend's house at the moment, because I need a place to stay while my mum is on a work conference in Germany. I got the train from Groningen down to Den Haag, which took about two and half hours. Was an alright journey to be honest. I had my IPod, my phone and the latest edition of both ELLE and VOGUE, so there wasn't really any time to be bored. It's my second day here, and unfortunately, Kathe needs to go to school and I wasn't allowed to join her, so I've been stuck in her room. It's not to be really. I'm the kind of person who doesn't really mind being alone, as long has I have my laptop to do bits and bobs on.
For my Personal Project, this school project I need to complete by November the 10th, I've decided to make a fashion based magazine. I found a website that prints magazines for a reasonable price and is able to shop all over the world. Here's the link to it if any of you are interested your self to do something like this: http://www.magcloud.com/
I took some photo's purely out of boredom, but I'm actually quite happy how they turned out! They are a little poserish, but ignore that! I also was able to make a video for my youtube account: "monicaaliceeShow" so you should watch it and see what it's like.

Weird and wonderful

When I was on Holiday, I saw some amazing and weird things when I was staying at the cottage. The lady next door to us had this goat, who constantly was on the table. Yes that’s right, on a table. I wasn't too sure why.
One evening I was outside playing with my little brother and sister and was lucky enough to capture this beautiful sunset. The clouds looked like they were a painting and the colour were so unreal and so beautiful. The black trees in the distance really exaggeration the colours.
On the last day of the trip we were playing on some grass and I happened to be barefoot. As I ran, I JUST missed stepping on the gigantic slug! My little sister was brave enough to pick it up to compare its size for a photo. It wasn't just long, it was very fat. Izzy wanted to show the rest, so she ended up running to the house with a slug stuck to her hand. It was a very odd moment.

Some Day Summery, Tuesday

♥  London Riots are getting out of hand.. the looting and the thuggery is outrageous. Coming from London, and in London right now, it's upsetting that people are able to destroy their beautiful city and it's heartbreaking to see people homes and workplaces be destoyed. Four days on, I'm hoping that it'll be over as soon as possible, which is looking a little posituve, because the police number has gone up. This might not work, but I do hope it will.
Got back from Brighton today, as I went to see Leoni who is a close friend of mine. We got up to alot in the two days I was down there. The first night, we went out for an Italian, with out mums, and after went to this posh hotel for some pudding. The next day, our day started of with some shopping, but then rumours that the riots where coming to Brighton centre, we headed home. We didn't let the riots get us down though, and still had a good time. It was lots of fun and am gutted that I had to leave, but am definitaly looking forward to next time.
Blogging is very new to me and I'm not to sure how to make it look good and promote it. I'm still working on what to do, and am thinking of setting up a facebook page which I will share everything on. This could maybe help it get going. Only time will tell.
The weather last week was really weird. In the morning it was usually really cold, cold enough to wear a jumper, then by midday the sun was shining and got rather hot. The heat didn't last, and then by late afternoon, it began to rain. It did puzzle me, but I suppose in England it's possible to have every season in one day.
♥  I've got my eye on this georgeous looking books for my birthday. Their covers have been designed by various artist, Eley Kishimoto and Lucienne Day are just two. The books are to celebrating some of the 20th centuary's best femail authors, so I'm intersted what they are like. I'm sure I will end up reading one of them.
