Cooking Blog • Diamond Jubilee Cupcakes

Hello all! I hope everyone had an enjoyable long Jubilee weekend if you are in the U.K. or another part of the common the Commonwealth! If you did not celebrate the Jubilee I still hope you had a really good weekend! Up above you can see some over the top cupcakes that were specially made for the Jubilee
All you need to do to make yourself some, is use any cupcake flavor you want. My boyfriend and I chose to make blueberry flavored, but if you prefer a flavor more like chocolate, then that is perfectly fine as well. For the icing, we used plane icing sugar but instead of using water, we used some freshly squeezed lemon juice to make it a little more interesting. If you prefer using water go right ahead! We made three bowls of icing and made each icing have a different colour; one blue, one red and one we left its natural colour, white. These are, as you may know, the colour of the Union Jack. After, we covered each cake with the blue icing and left it too dry inside the fridge. After ten minute we took them out, and using a spoon and patients, created four white lines; verticallyhorizontally, and diagonally. After leaving them in the fridge for another ten minutes to harden, using the same method, we went over the white lines in the red icing.     There we go, Union Jack cupcakes! However, to make them look even more Jubilee styled, we added little crowns and multicolored flags in the middle. Hey presto! You are finished!
I hope you all enjoyed this post on our Diamond Jubilee cupcakes! Let me know if you like cooking posts now and again, and how your Jubilee weekend went! xoxo
