Christmas In New York City

For my 16th birthday, my dad took me to New York City! It was the best time of my life! It was magical. Everything was very stereotypical just like in the film. The yellow taxi cabs, that NYPD (New York Police Department), the traffic lights and everything. Here are some photos and what happened.
The first day we got the subway down to South Ferry and walked to Battery Park. There we walked to Broklyn bridge. It was just like in gossip girl, right where Dan lives. I thought I saw his house over the river, but that could have been my imagination. We walked on to an opening to see the something I was waiting a life time to see. The Statue of Liberty. From the river side, I couldn't really see it because it was very small, but I could make out a bluey green statue in the distance. We saw the queue was over three hours, so we decided to come earlier the next day instead because we didn't have the time to wait. We then walked up to the New York Stock Exchange which was, I have to say, the prettiest part of New York. The pavement was s clean and shiny, and the buildings were so old and beautiful. We then walked up and though Greenwich and Soho. There were lots of nice little boutiques and it was really pretty. We went to Washington Square which was just a children's film. It was quiet and peaceful full of dog walkers and people playing chess. A pair were walking around holding up a sign saying 'Free Hugs' which made me smile. On we went and went into some shops, including Marc Jacobs, Abercrombie and Fitch and Victoria's Secret. We saw ground zero from a distance. It was very sad, but it was covered in scaffolding and fences. We couldn't get in because the queues were to long but seeing it already built an atmosphere. We stopped of at a little cafe which I really enjoyed. It was raining so we needed a place to shelter. From there, we just walked all the way back to the hotel. They next day we got up and went straight to The Statue of Liberty. It was freezing! It was very windy on the boat the get. I have to say, the Statue was A LOT smaller than I was expecting. I suppose your whole life hearing stories about it and seeing pictures you expect it to be the huge statue, but really.. it wasn't that big. However, it was beautiful. There was a really good view of New York and all the skyscrapers. We also went to Statin Island which was where all the refugees went to a long time ago. We went back to Manhattan and we got the subway. The last day we got up really early and made our way to the Rockefeller Centre. We went up to the very top and got an amazing view of New York. For some reason, I wasn't scared at all being that high. I think I was just so amazed that I forgot how high I was. I saw a temperature board far down below that read '-7 degrees'. It was freezing. We made our way back down the lift back to the ground. We walked through central park which was beautiful. We saw the Museum of Natural History, which was pretty cool because it reminded me of the film, 'night at the museum'. We were running out of time and I had one more place I really wanted to go. Tiffany and Co. New York. I got a neck less from there a year ago which broke so my dad suggested we got it fixed there. They were very nice and did it all for us. The shop was massive. Six floors high. Each floor had a theme, the expensive floor, the not so expensive floor, the stationary floor and the rest I couldn't see because we didn't go there. It was all Christmas themed and was beautiful. After that we made out way to the airport and it was good bye New York. I really enjoyed my self and defiantly want to go back there again.
